About Us
Jay and Louise Norris have been helping clients with life and health insurance in Texas since 2003 and began the website www.texinsurance.org to provide information about the insurance products and insurance companies available in Texas. The website proved to be very informative and helpful to our clients, but wasn’t interactive enough for the volatile and dynamic Texas insurance industry (especially health insurance).
So in December of 2007, we changed the website format to a blog so we can keep our clients informed about the day-to-day changes in the industry and allow our clients to provide their thoughts and ideas by commenting on the posts. We will probably come to find that most of the content on the blog is about health insurance in Texas because that industry is being given HUGE political attention lately. We still have the informative pages about the insurance products and insurance companies doing business in Texas, but you’ll also be able to give your input and ask questions in the comment section of those pages as well.
Outside of the office, Jay enjoys mountain biking, mountain unicycling, basketball, football, disc golf and playing Frisbee with our dog Lukky (it’s the easiest way to wear her out). Jay developed the early interest in health insurance by being very accident prone. A broken leg playing football, a broken humorous from snowboarding, a recent blown knee from his mountain unicycle, and various other injuries resulting in scars all over. His specialties are individual health insurance, HSAs, and life insurance.
Louise also enjoys mountain biking as well as road biking, and going for long runs with Lukky. She is completely fluent in Swahili from spending two years with the Peace Corps in Tanzania. Her Swahili has yet to come in handy with any of our clients. Her specialty is group health insurance in Texas, underwriting, and policy benefits.
